History

The Candy House was founded in 1970, when an old stone tavern just south of Joplin, Missouri, was transformed into a quaint little candy shop. Today, the Candy House, with several locations, is known nationwide for its delicious hand dipped chocolates.

In November of 2004, Candy House owners Terry and Pat Hicklin took the company to the next level, opening the Candy House Chocolate Factory in downtown Joplin. This 8400-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility now gives the Candy House the ability to provide the absolute best in quality hand dipped chocolates and service to its retail and corporate customers. The Chocolate Factory includes not only a large production area (with glass walls for watching our candy makers in action), but a retail showroom as well.

We look forward to serving you all year long with our line of exceptional hand dipped chocolates and other gourmet products, and we invite you to visit any of our Missouri stores (two in Joplin and two in Springfield). When it comes to holidays and special times of the year, the Candy House also offers unique, limited-time selections. Always beautifully presented, gifts from the Candy House are valued and appreciated by any recipient.

To our corporate customers…we would welcome the opportunity to help design a gift-giving program for your company.
